The story from last year:

The Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club helped the Paul Bunyan Cyclists (Bike Club) with their 18th Annual Tour of Lakes Bike Tour.  Thirteen members of BAARC contributed their time, energy, and expertise to provide communications and help make this annual Tour of Lakes ride another success.  The event started at 8 AM in Garrison, MN, and circled around to the west and north (around Platte and Upper and Lower South Long Lakes) in 35 and 75 mile loops.  It returned to end in Garrison.

The BAARC Emergency Communications Trailer was stationed at one of the tour rest stops.  We operated at several 2 meter radio frequencies for voice communications and APRS (Automated Packet Reporting System).  This was our first exercise with our APRS equipment using a new computer, new radios, new software, and new LCD monitor screen.

George KCØBH worked as Net ControlDave KCØTGT handled trailer transport, setup, tear-down, and APRSAl WØRC also did APRS setup and control.  Hams who provided communications for the sag wagons were John WØJGY, Shirley KCØDCW, Lyle KØLR, and Darrell ABØVP.  Rovers sags were Roger WØWUG, and Kathy KØTHY.  Shadow for the event organizer was Paula WØHA.  Rest stop hams were Curt NØCRM, Skee WØDCY, Terry KIØFW.
